Desiree Ontiveros
Founder, ONT.
Desiree Ontiveros is a founder and operator with deep experience building, scaling, and leading consumer businesses. She founded Sardonic Sentiments, the parent company of Badass Balloon Co., growing it from an early Etsy concept into a globally recognized, seven-figure brand distributed through Walmart, Amazon, and international independent retailers.
Across her career, Desiree has owned full P&L responsibility, built and managed cross-functional teams, and navigated the operational complexity that comes with scale. Prior to founding her own companies, she worked in global retail marketing strategy, representing premium and consumer brands including Spanx, Royal Asscher Diamonds, Romona Keveza, Irina Shabayeva, TACORI, and Can-Am.
Beyond her operating work, Desiree is an active advocate for entrepreneurship and access to capital. In 2021, she ran for U.S. Congress in Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District, focused on policies supporting growth-stage businesses and founders.
Her work and leadership have been recognized by NPR, People Magazine, and regional and national organizations, including Silicon Bayou 100 Most Influential Entrepreneurs, New Orleans Magazine Top Female Achievers, JAGNO of America Rising Star Award, and Woman of the Year honors.
